This economically priced non-motion detector provides many features to assist with detecting. The discrimination control provides the ability to reject not just iron, but also other worthless items such as silver paper or even bottle tops and ringpulls. All you need to do is set the control where you want it. At setting '0' all metals will be detected, and at '10' you will only find the most conductive items made from silver or copper. Being a non-motion detector, tuning is required. The Viking 6 ensures you need only do this once, when you first switch the detector on. The retune button is used to automatically restore the correct tuning level in case of drift. The versatility of this detector ensures it is literally a 'go anywhere' detector, whether that is the beach, parkland or iron contaminated sites. The Viking 5 features a professional 'S' type shaft with armrest for comfortable detecting. It has a larger search head allowing for extra depth penetration and ground coverage. Simple to use, this is our most popular detector and is also produced for the water industry as the WASP. Working well on both inland sites and the beach this detector represents excellent value for money. Similar to the Viking 5 Metal Detector in terms of circuitry, but scaled down in size making it more compact and therefore ideal for children. Owing to the smaller diameter search head, this detector is not quite as powerful as the Viking 5.
